Coconut Triangle
Nestled among Sri Lanka's tropical coconut groves, Coconut Triangle is a modern A-frame retreat designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The project combines contemporary architecture, warm timber finishes, and expansive glazing to create a peaceful connection between indoor and outdoor living.
Design Concept
The A-frame form takes cues from traditional tropical architecture while giving it a contemporary edge, working with the landscape rather than against it. Its steep, angular roofline draws the eye upward and gives the retreat a distinct silhouette among the coconut groves.
Materials & Light
Warm timber finishes run throughout the structure, paired with expansive glazing that floods the interior with natural light and opens views straight out to the surrounding greenery. The material palette stays close to nature, keeping the retreat grounded in its coastal setting.
Interiors & Atmosphere
Interiors are kept comfortable and simple, letting natural light and the surrounding scenery take center stage. The result is a serene escape that reflects the quiet beauty of Sri Lanka's coastal landscape.
