Our Philosophy
At Lanka Rasadi Arkitekter, we believe great design begins with empathy. Our work starts by listening, understanding the lives, needs, and surroundings of the people we design for. We focus on creating spaces that feel timeless, not trend-driven. Whether through architecture, interiors, or our design approach is clear, refined, and rooted in context. Every project is shaped with sensitivity to place and purpose. We believe architecture and interior design should quietly support and improve everyday life. By bridging aesthetics with functionality, we create thoughtful spaces that feel intuitive, human, and lasting.
Our Values
Core Values
Listen · Design · Care
Listen
Every project begins by listening. To the people, the place, the purpose. We believe great design starts with understanding.
Design
Thoughtful, timeless, and rooted in context. We craft spaces that quietly support everyday life, blending functionality with beauty.
Care
We care about people — the way they live, work, and feel in a space. This care extends to our clients, collaborators, and communities.
Our Studio
Our Design Studio
At Lanka Rasadi Arkitekter, our values guide everything we do: At Lanka Rasadi Arkitekter, we believe that great architecture begins with listening to people, place, and purpose. Our design approach is rooted in thoughtful attention to context, creating spaces that are timeless, sustainable, and enhance everyday life with clarity and calm. Founded in 2021, with studios in Sweden and Sri Lanka, our practice draws on a unique blend of Scandinavian minimalism and tropical resilience. Prior to founding the studio, Lanka honed her expertise under the mentorship of two of Sri Lanka’s most respected architects — Prof. Chitra Weddikkara and Prof. Lalith De Silva — building a strong foundation in sustainable, context-responsive design.
We craft environments of refined simplicity, fluid layouts, and neutral palettes — always shaped by the needs, stories, and visions of those who inhabit them. The practice is led by Archt. Lanka Rasadi Gunathilaka, who holds a B.Arch (Hons) from the University of Moratuwa and is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (AIA), RIBA (UK), and Sveriges Arkitekter (MSA). She also holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
Our studio is a collaborative team of architects and designers who bring diverse perspectives and cultural insights to every project. We listen carefully to clients, collaborators, and the environment to create architecture that is quietly elegant, meaningful, and enduring.
